The Issue
Even though diversity in U.S. student populations is steadily
increasing, the majority of this country’s teaching staff
has remained white and female.
Many schools are addressing –
with varying degrees of success
– the often-sensitive issues surrounding diversity in their
students and staff. Other schools – hampered by limited understanding of and
experience with cultural differences – find it difficult to
know where to begin.
With implementation of the No Child
Left Behind legislation, pressure on school systems to conform
to federal standards for teachers and programs is greater than
ever.
What We Do!
• TalentEd delivers diversity
staffing solutions to schools by networking colleges and
universities that train minority teachers with school systems
looking to hire them.
• We support schools with
consultation services designed to ease cultural transitions
among school staff, students, parents and the community.
• We offer culture-specific
training with follow-up for reinforcement.
